Select any text, link, email, or phone number on a webpage. Right-click → Scan the QR code with your phone's camera. Done. No apps, no cloud, no accounts.
Built for speed, privacy, and daily convenience. No bloat, no cloud, no accounts.
QR codes start blurred with a click-to-reveal toggle. Your data is never visible to bystanders at work, cafes, or public spaces.
Automatically detects URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, and contacts (vCard/MECARD) inside selected text and organizes them into scannable tabs.
Apple cameras copy raw text directly. Android cameras can't — so QR Drop wraps text in an SMS body for easy copy-paste. One toggle, both covered.
If selected text is too long for a scannable QR, a crop banner appears to trim it to the optimal 240-character length automatically.
Everything runs inside your browser. No servers, no APIs, no analytics. Your content never leaves your machine — ever.

Highlight any text, link, email, or phone number on a webpage. Or open the extension popup and paste anything.
Click "Send via QR Drop" from the context menu. A floating QR code appears on the page instantly — privacy-blurred by default.
Point your smartphone's camera at the screen. The text, link, or phone number is instantly available on your phone. Done.
Yes, completely free. QR Drop is a passion project built by Openfixx. There are no ads, no subscriptions, and no hidden fees.
Absolutely not. QR codes are generated entirely inside your browser using a local JavaScript library. No network requests are made. Your text, links, emails, and phone numbers never leave your machine.
Most Android cameras only recognize URLs, Wi-Fi, and contacts from QR codes. For raw text, they offer "web search" instead of copying. QR Drop's Android mode works around this by wrapping text in an SMS body (sms:0?body=...) so it opens in Messages for easy copying.
QR Drop is a Manifest V3 Chrome extension. It works on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera, and any Chromium-based browser.
QR Drop's density indicator shows green (optimal) below 150 characters, yellow (medium) up to 300, and red (high) above 300. For best scanning results, we recommend keeping text under 240 characters. The built-in "Crop" button can trim automatically.
